Most comfortable shoes I've ever worn!

I just received these shoes today and here are my impressions.

3:30pm The shoes arrived and I eagerly opened the box and put them on. They feel quite a bit different from other shoes. The sole is VERY springy! The tongue is hurting my right foot and I'm concerned that I am going to need to return the shoes.



4:30pm I take the shoes off and it turns out that the tongue (which is connected to the sides of the top of the shoe where the laces go through)is not centered quite right so I fold it in place and put the shoes back on. I notice a difference instantly. My wife comes home from work and says "I don't like the way they look....but they are your shoes".



By 5:30 I don't care how they look because they are soooo comfortable. The soft leather uppers seems to fit the foot perfectly and the soft sole is still really springy. The combination of these two is magnificent.



By 7pm I love these shoes so much that I am sitting at the computer writing a review at amazon!



I generally wear birkenstock and Dr. Marten shoes so I have spoiled my feet. It is a fantastice surprise to get these shoes and find that they are even MORE comfortable than the Docs or the Birks.

Great shoe but poor design.

Love the style and comfort of this shoe when it was new. After about 6 months 2 things happened. First the top inside of the shoe leather began curling severely at the seams. Second the sole is now almost completely craxked in half at the flex point where the ball of your foot normally bends. The first item may be just from normal wear but the Nike Air soles on these shoes have a known defect where they will begin to crack over time. Cole Haan said they could resole them for $86. So overall good style and great comfort but they have known issues that Cole Haan will not help you with.More detail ...

Comfortable Shoe! Maybe a little too roomy in the toes...

I am very happy with my purchase. I had been watching this shoe for a few months before I decided to buy it. I was following it on a few different footwear sites to gather reviews. Eventually stock began running out when I decided to check out Amazon. The prices here beat everyone and included shipping. This was my first Amazon purchase and has guaranteed me as a return customer in the future.



The show is very soft around the foot but feels solid under my foot. It's very comfortable and as a slip-on it's very easy to put on. The casual styling makes it a great driving shoe or simple preppy wear in the Spring/Summer/Fall. My only minor issue with it is the roomy area in the toe region. I would suggest ordering half a size small. Because of the extra room I anticipate the shoe to eventually shoe a crease where the toes bend with each step. This hasn't begun to happen yet after 2 months but then again I don't wear them every day.

Comfortable Sharp shoes

I was very pleased with this purchase. They are very nice. My only con would be the toe. The sole doesn't go all the way to the tip of the toe so the underside toe leather is wearing a bit. Doesn't really matter since no one can see it except me.More detail ...

My husband loves these shoes!

I buy these shoes all the time for my husband (when I can find them) who has very large and wide feet (13EEE) and he absolutely loves them. They are as advertised no break-in soft and easy to put on. The best shoe to wear with shorts as they just slip on and don't require socks. BTW-they are not slippers as the guy below says-they are Drivers with a very slight sole. This does affect their wear if you walk in them a lot but the last pair my husband bought lasted 3 years and he wears them all the time. Time for a new pair!More detail ...

30-40 Year veteran

My new Topsiders have a better initial fit than all my previous pairs. I guess being produced in China has slightly changed the dimensions in my case to the better.



This pair is the two-toned version (brown & black) which are best for traveling as they will go with any color clothing. They used to have another travel advantage as after 9/11 they were the only pair of shoes you didn't have to remove at airport security. The TSA folks knew they had no arch support and wouldn't set off the metal detectors. Unfortunately during the last year the TSA now insist all shoes go through the x-ray machine.



I have owned many pair in the past several decades including the Gold Cup (which are the most comfortable with the best support - although a bit pricey) and this is the first pair that make my feet black when not wearing socks. Evidently the dye they are now using is not colorfast. They have not been wet or worn on the water yet they have only been worn in an urban environment. Hopefully with age they will stop bleeding.



Otherwise if they can correct the dye problem they appear to be well constructed even though they are now made in China.
